SWINE FLU HYBRID AND BRIDGE VIRUS TO SWINE-AVIAN FLU PANDEMIC GENES

The swine flu is common in the agribusiness, and antibodies to swine flu are present in 20% of vetenarians and 5% of pig farm workes, and rarely kills pigs.

However, this swine flu that has presented in Mexico, Texas, California, Queens NYC, London, Italy, etc. has genes of swine, avian, human, and asian flu. This is without any doubt a pandemic flu with a current case fatality estimated at 10 % plus, and rapidly is leaping across North America and to Europe.

Since 1997, the H5N1 flu has spread to all continents. Genetics showed that six strains had high pathogenic case fatality rates in the range of 70% average from 25 % to 100 % case fatality rates in humans, with some clusters of human to human spread, with close physical contact. Defiencies in two amino acids needed to allow rapid attachment to human cells was found in all strains, but can be acquired by recombinants with H9N2 or H7N3 or H3N2 etc. endemic human stains that can also coinfect pigs, birds, agricultural animals, and animals in the wild. Until fall 2008, the avian flu did not optimally replicate unless it was at 106 degrees or higher, but now it has acquired the capacity to replicate easily at 98.6 Farhenheit. Drug resistance to Amantadine, Tamiflu also are the predominant strains.

The current swine flu is analagous to a early 20th century steamer trunk, with stickers showing the visited countries and coastal cities. It has stamps from Asia, North America, Avian, Swine and Human genetics. This is a "Lab Creation". Now, we must understand that this virus is behaving as if it is more lethal per case that usual flu, and can recombine in pigs, wild and domestic birds, and other animals and can thus acquire PB2 deletions, NS1 gene polymorphisms, and the polybasic six amino acids that allow it to grow in brain and CNS as well as any other target organ in human and animal hosts. The NS1 deletion of four amino acids bypasses IL4, and thus is much more lethal with massive cytokine release at end stages. Because Avian H5N1 and the 1918 Swine Flu targeted young healthy people, the release of cytokines was more violent in the most healthy. This first wave is likely to recombine and after Phase 1 gene to population insertion, Phase 2 will result in new superstrains with additional genetic polymorphisms allow transfer efficiently to humans. Phase 2 is the bioreactor phase. In the emergent or Phase 3, new viral Clades of Swine /Avian hybrids will then have more efficient spreading and higher spontaneous lethality.

Human Life International invited Dr Bill Deagle MD to speak, March 1997, to the International Board of Doctors and Scientists.

After my two hour talk, the board sat me down for a presentation of a foot of documents. Included were three distinct biological programs. The first was a plasmid anti-HCG contaminated Tetanus Vaccine, to cause first trimester sterility by spontaneous induced miscarriage in the target populations of Subsharan Africa, Phillipines, and other target WHO UN high density population countries.

The second program was the US Special Virus Project, with mycoplasma RNA oncogenic viruses to cause immune failure, and premature death. It was knows as the AIDS syndrome, and was a recombinant of Visna, Green Monkey and Feline leukemia retro-RNA viruses carried by host mycobacteria.

They were in process of obtaining gene fragments from deceased whalers in Alaska with the CDC and Natl Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, supercomputer remodeled and bioengineered resurrection of the 1918 Swine Flu. They planned to insert into the genome Avian genes and spray into Asian bird populations, which would later be a gene pool when spread was complete to all continents for a new Swine-Avian Flu Pandemic.

We now see the H1N1 flu in Mexico, Canada, UK, Italy, USA and perhaps other locations, rapidly evolving. This wave is quite lethal, but with the H5N1 genetics in the wild, it is likely to come in future waves with yet more lethal genes and more rapid spread.

Certainly, in the next 7 days, the presence in multiple countries, US Pandemic Flu Alert, WHO raised from 3rd to 4th level, and the pronouncements for a decade plus of coming Pandemic Flu, this was totally a UN WHO plot to release a virus that would cull the human herd. Martial law will come with this or future waves in the next several months.

I have already suggested the following view of the matter to others:

Neither the Republican, nor Democratic parties, nor the Independents, could represent the citizenry efficiently now. Our republic is now represented only by the committed patriotic citizenry itself, that portion, from among sundry designations, which is determined to defend this republic against those, its enemies, which are now centered in support of the faction of the incumbent, imperial British monarchy and its neo-malthusian and like accomplices.

Our task must therefore be, to assist those patriots in assembling themselves as a patriotic force to defend our republic and civilization generally, to muster a defense against that predatory mass rallied around the currently incumbent branch of British monarchy which has defined itself as dedicated to policies even far worse than those of the Adolf Hitler regime.

True patriotism of our republic and its allies, is the only effective defense against such scoundrels and the like, including our incumbent President, who are fairly described, by policies, as being presently devoted to the service of Satan himself.

Those who differ with us on that point are already in the camp of Adolf Hitler, whether by intention, or moral negligence.

On our side, governmental forces representing, in fact, the vital interests of the majority of humanity, must be encouraged to view the British monarchy's intent to reduce the world's population, rapidly, from about 6.7 billions to less than 2 billions, as sounding the alarm which Benjamin Franklin raised: our patriots must, once again, join together, or die separately.

January 4, 2010 (LPAC)?Lyndon LaRouche said Sunday in discussion of some developments from across the political spectrum in the United States, that we are organizing and leading "the movement for patriotism" against the British Empire enemy.

It is not a "partisan" mass strike, with adherents of one party rising up against a Congress and Presidency of the other. The Republican Party doesn't function, LaRouche said. The Democratic Party is in process of collapsing. Self-designated "independent" voters, while numerous, have not been and are not a movement and are not forming a third party. This is not a matter of parties.

We are organizing and leading a mass-strike movement which is "feeling its way, without clear perspective as of now," toward true patriotism for what America has constitutionally represented, against the British Empire. Across the political spectrum, reports indicate, differing groupings are identifying the same enemies and looking for common action to defeat them. Enemies like Larry Summers, Geithner, Bernanke, President Obama ? coming to be seen almost as a foreign enemy by many ? and the Congress ? coming to be regarded as full of homegrown traitors, to the Constitution and the general welfare.

If the activists and potential leaders of this movement don't immediately identify the controlling, British imperial enemy and its methods of action, they respond when with the prompting of LaRouchePAC. And they respond with the force of the intensifying mass strike.

You don't see many Members of Congress daring town meetings this recess?and Nancy Pelosi decided this weekend to call them back into session a week early, just to make sure they don't.

January 4, 2009 (LPAC)?American statesman Lyndon LaRouche characterized the "No subject but terrorism" line in the U.S. media today as a desperate move by the Brits to change the subject?from the Empire's utter defeat at the Copenhagen "climate conference," and in the emergence under China/India leadership of the "Four Powers" principle for a new credit system. This constant moving to shift the focus of strategy among nations, by distractions and "switching the trend," is the continuing modus operandi of the British Empire, LaRouche said, in particular after the empire suffers strategic setbacks at the hands of sovereign nation-state forces.

Following the complete failure of British environmentalist genocide policy at Copenhagen as of Dec. 20, the international media have seemed to shift to "all terrorism, all the time." Today's U.S. Sunday TV talk shows intensified the changed trend: none of them allowed discussion of anything except terrorism, anti-terror intelligence, and Yemen.

"The Brits always change as they go along," LaRouche commented to staff today. "This shifting of apparent trends is not "statistical." It's the British Empire. The movement is controlled by the British Empire. Whatever the apparent trend is, it ain't. The real phenomenon is, 'Switch, switch, change the trend.'"

But, "London and the Saudis are always the enemies." In fact, the terrorists who supposedly retook leadership of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Gulf, after being released to Yemen from Guantanamo (according to scores of media and talking heads), were in fact released to Saudi Arabia! Three factors are being insistently ignored in the constant "terror" chatter: the blatant role of "Londonistan" in indoctrination, recruiting, and funding of terrorist networks; the Saudi role in the same; and the question, "Why, then, is the U.S. just sending 35,000 more troops to Afghanistan?"

As for the British plan, joined by Obama, to form a special jointly-funded police unit in Yemen; the decision by the British and the U.S. to close their embassies in Yemen?both announced Sunday morning; and the announcement that the United Nations discussion of Afghanistan scheduled for spring, will now take place on January 28 in London, with its agenda at least in part changed to terrorism; LaRouche affirmed, "Obama has no plans. He's a nothing. The British Empire has plans."

This is a reaction to the rout of the British at Copenhagen?the little Queen's chosen vehicle to achieve global fascism. The ubiquitous discussion of terrorism is standard British Empire operating procedure to distract from the infrastructure-credit deals China, Russia, and India have signed. This is intended to distract from the possibility of the United States playing its true role as a cornerstone with those other three nations, in a Four Powers agreement to destroy the British System and rebuild the world.

January 4, 2010 (LPAC)?The New York Times notably devoted its front-page lead story Jan. 2 to the charge that President Obama's disastrous, year-old "foreclosure mitigation" plan has not only failed, but is worsening the housing price collapse and could "cause another recession." While the Times' descriptive language for this financial breakdown collapse is inappropriate, their taking aim at Obama?perhaps on behalf of those economists who know he has to be put under adult supervision and his policies reversed?is clear.

The article's new home-loss figures, from Moody'sEconomy.com, are shocking. The sum of repossessions in foreclosure, plus abandonment of homes in lieu of foreclosure, plus loss of homes by "short sale," amounted to a total of 1.7 million American homes lost in 2008; 2 million in 2009; and a projected 2.4 million in 2010. This means 6.1 million, or one-eighth of all mortgaged homes in the country, 6,000 homes lost every day for three years.

Economists Mark Zandi of Economy.com and Kevin Katari of Watershed Asset Management are quoted: "From its inception, the Obama plan has drawn criticism for failing to compel banks to write down the size of outstanding mortgage balances." "Banks have been using temporary loan modifications under the Obama plan as justification to avoid an honest accounting of the mortgage losses on their books." True, for a change.

On the bank bailout flip-side of Obama's policy, economist Dean Baker catches on to what LPAC's "Tantamount To Treason" pamphlet laid out 18 months ago: Obama has expanded the size of the government bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, from its original $400 billion limit, to no limit. "Now, its very hard to understand how they [Fannie and Freddie] could incur losses of more than $400 billion," says Baker. "And this raises the question, what exactly are [nationalized] Fannie and Freddie doing? And what I suggest in that piece is that this might be a backdoor TARP. In effect, what Fannie and Freddie could be doing is buying the bad assets?that's what TARP was supposed to do?of banks, and paying too much money for them, in which case you will incur lots of losses. So this could be yet another big gift to the banks."

Meanwhile the Federal Reserve bought $1.111 trillion in such mortgage-backed securities (MBS) during 2009. Since Fannie and Freddie issued only about $250 billion in MBS in 2009, and this was 90% of all MBS issued, the Fed was overwhelmingly ($850 billion worth) buying MBS from banks, which had been on those banks' books since 2006-2007, and buying this toxic crap at 100% of the banks' claimed value.

Restore the Glass-Steagall principle?which, as Lyndon LaRouche has described, was simply an implementation in 1933 of the Hamiltonian national banking principle embedded in the United States' Constitution. And, all these corrupt bailouts must be immediately cancelled; all these banks are ready for reorganization in bankruptcy.

January 4, 2010 (LPAC)?The LaRouche Plan for Africa is taking a huge leap these days as African nations, led by Sudan and the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), finalized their decision to start the construction of the Dakar-Port Sudan railway connecting West and East Africa with a 10,000 km rail line and development corridors. The announcement came in the context of a meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey and Egypt yesterday, January 2, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the Secretary General of the OIC, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, to discuss the Darfur donors conference (under the auspices of the OIC, not the UN) to be held in March. That the solution for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur is kicking out the British Empire and bringing economic development to the region are the two points the LaRouche associates brought to the Khartoum conference on International Justice last April.

Even more interesting, Professor Ihsanoglu stated that the Dakar-Port Sudan railway project is supported enthusiastically by Russia and China! He said that the OIC has accepted the working plan for the project and will start discussing the financing for the project, through participation of the relevant nations located on the line and the Islamic Development Bank, based in Saudi Arabia and the OIC.

Sudan will host the official headquarters of the project. In early December 2009, President of Sudan Omar Hasan Al-Bashir keynoted a major conference of the OIC transport ministers in the Friendship Hall in Khartoum, where he discussed the Dakar-Port Sudan railway and thanked the OIC for its support of the project. The Sudanese Transport Minister, Philip Thon Leek, told the conference that the whole world will benefit from this project. Leek briefed the ministers on Sudan's plans to connect the country to its African neighbors through railways, urging the African nations to exert their utmost efforts in building railways due to the importance of railways in achieving development and stability.

In that December conference, Professor Ihsanoglu stressed the willingness of the member states of the OIC to implement the ten-year development plans agreed upon in 2005 to face the financial crisis and the effects of globalization. He called upon the OIC leaders to rally the support for implementing and accomplishing this project.

On December 10, Khartoum hosted the meeting of the expert groups of the OIC members participating in the Dakar-Port Sudan project. Mr. Mabrouk Mubarak Selim, State Minister in the Sudanese Transport Ministry, keynoted the opening session stating: The project is aiming at connecting the African deserts through the rail line, bringing the depth of Africa in contact with both the Atlantic Ocean and the Red Sea through 10,000 km of rail lines.

Engineer Hamza Omar Al-Fadhelabi, Director of Sudan's Railway Authority, said that the project will have a main corridor with an 8,000 km trunk line, 4,000 km of which is already connected but needs rehabilitation and overhaul. The other 4,000 consists of connections extending to the capitals of some member states. Al-Fadhelabi added that there are nations that are not crossed by the main trunk line, such as Libya, Uganda, and Djibouti, which will also be connected to the project. He explained that the rail line will make it possible to pass directly from East Africa to its Western coast. He emphasized that the project represents a major transformation process for the African continent in economic, political, and touristic aspects.

Mr. Mohammed Altayib Qasamallah, chairman of the committee in charge of the continental railway project, said: The proposed strategic project is the fruit of the draft resolution presented by Sudan to the OIC and passed at the OIC Summit in Senegal in March 2008. He noted that the railway project will encompass 13 African nations along the main trunk line, and 6 more nations on the secondary lines.

Professor Vincent?s research has evolved considerably since his initial work correlating water quality and disease, and is the foundation of the health-care modality Bio-Electronic Terrain Analysis. This approach has yielded remarkable results in clinics throughout Europe.

PH is a measure of acidity or alkalinity, i.e. the hydrogen ion concentration. Assuming the rH2 and r values are within accepted values, the pH of bio-compatible water can range from 4.0 to 6.9. This range is allowed because in extremely pure water it is very easy to effect the pH value?there are no other dissolved substances to buffer the solution. Regrettably, many municipal systems add lime to raise the pH between 7.3 and 8.0 in order to protect pipes from corrosion. (In fact, many of the toxic compounds found in drinking water come from the distribution system itself. Some, like chlorine and fluoride, are intentionally added; others are acquired as water flows through aging and leaking underground pipes?picking up traces of any number of metals including copper, nickel, chromium, even lead.) Many visitors to our site wonder why BEV values call for slight acidity in drinking water, while many web sites promote alkaline drinking water. We find it fascinating that the very idea of the internal environment (terrain) being too acid was developed long before the Japanese and Korean alkalizing machines came to market.

We have carefully reviewed every publication available describing the supposed benefits of alkaline water, and in every case we've found there are significant gaps in the research. Describing pH is only one of the critical parameters for measuring the biocompatibility of drinking water, and is the value most easily influenced. For example, none of the literature accompanying alkaline water machines explains why you would need an alkalizing machine if your tap water is already alkaline (as it is for much of the western USA.)

Further, none of the literature discusses the concentration of the alkaline solution. Alkaline water from an ionizing machine will be significantly different if the source water comes from Seattle vs. Tulsa. These water supplies have vastly different levels of dissolved minerals, yet the literature never mentions how these differences will influence the strength of the alkaline solution. Omissions like these reflect poorly on the credibility of the promoters of alkaline water machines.

RH2 (a value derived via the Nernst Equation and a linear function of pH) provides an indication of oxidation/reduction potential, i.e. the amount of available electrons. This tells you the vitality or energy potential of the water. RH2 also has a scale (similar to pH) that measures from 0 to 42, with 28 representing the mid-point. Values above 28 are considered oxidizing, below 28 reducing. The best water for human consumption has an rH2 slightly on the reducing side of the scale (originally 25 - 29, now more commonly accepted at 20 - 24). Unfortunately, the majority of chlorinated water supplies have an rH2 value higher than 27. (For a detailed technical discussion of the derivation of the rH2 value, see Dr. Robert C. Resistivity (the opposite of conductance) is used to measure the amount of dissolved inorganic solids, or TDS. The resistivity value should be as high as possible, indicating an exceptionally low concentration of dissolved contaminates. The higher the resistivity value, the cleaner your water and the better it is for you.

PWS? BEV-Series systems typically reduce TDS by greater than 99.6%. Given a feed water supply with TDS of 500 ppm, our BEV systems will typically reduce that to ~2 ppm or less.

Taken together, pH, rH2, and resistivity describe the biocompatibility of drinking water. Focusing on any single value, like pH, does not describe the solution adequately. A famous analogy comes to mind that fits perfectly

Study: Vibration plate machines may aid weight loss and trim abdominal fat

Amsterdam, the Netherlands: New research suggests that, if used properly, vibration plate exercise machines may help you lose weight and trim the particularly harmful belly fat between the organs.

In a study presented on Friday at the European Congress on Obesity, scientists found that overweight or obese people who regularly used the equipment in combination with a calorie restricted diet were more successful at long-term weight loss and shedding the fat around their abdominal organs than those who combined dieting with a more conventional fitness routine.

"These machines are increasingly found in gyms across the industrialized world and have gathered a devoted following in some places, but there has not been any evidence that they help people lose weight. Our study, the first to investigate the effects of vibration in obese people, indicates it's a promising approach. It looks like these machines could be a useful addition to a weight control package," said the study's leader, Dirk Vissers, a physiotherapist at the Artesis University College and the University of Antwerp in Belgium.

Vissers and his colleagues studied the effects of the Power Plate in 61 overweight or obese people - mostly women - for a year. The intervention lasted six months, after which the scientists advised all the volunteers to do the best they could with a healthy diet and exercise regime on their own for another six months. Body measurements, including CT scans of abdominal fat, were taken at the beginning of the study and after three, six and 12 months.

The researchers divided the volunteers into four groups. One group was prescribed an individually calculated calorie restricted diet. Dietician visits were scheduled every fortnight for the first three months and every month for the second three months. The dieters were asked not to engage in any exercise for the duration of the six-month intervention.

A second group received the same diet intervention, with the addition of a conventional fitness regime. They attended supervised exercise classes twice a week for an hour and were urged to exercise on their own a third time each week. The sessions included group cycling, swimming, running, step aerobics and some general muscle strengthening exercises.

A third group got the diet intervention plus supervised vibration plate training instead of conventional exercise. They were asked not to do any aerobic exercise during the six-month intervention phase. The physiotherapists gradually increased the speed and intensity of the machine each week, as well as the variety and duration of the exercises from 30 seconds for each of 10 exercises to 60 seconds for each of 22 exercises, such as squats, lunges, calf raises, push-ups and abdominal crunches. The average time spent on the machine was 11.9 minutes per session in the first three months and 14.2 minutes in the second three months.

A fourth group got no intervention. There were no significant differences between the groups in obesity and abdominal, or visceral, fat at the start of the study.

"Over the year, only the conventional fitness and vibration groups managed to maintain a 5% weight loss, which is what is considered enough to improve health," Vissers said.

During the first six months, the diet only group lost about 6% of their initial body weight, but could not maintain a 5% weight loss in the subsequent six months. The group that got diet plus conventional fitness lost about 7% of their initial body weight in the first six months, but they didn't put much of it back on and by the end of the study, they had managed to keep off a 6.9% loss. The vibration group lost 11% of their body weight during the intervention phase and by the end of the follow-up period they had maintained a 10.5% loss. The control group gained about 1.5% of their original body weight.

The vibration group lost 47.8 square centimetres of visceral fat during the first six months and still had a loss of 47.7 square centimetres at 12 months. Visceral fat shrank by 17.6 square centimetres in the conventional fitness group in the first six months, but by the end of the year, it was only 1.6 square centimetres less than at the beginning. The diet group had a visceral fat loss of 24.3 square centimetres after six months and 7.5 square centimetres after a year.

"These are very encouraging results, but it doesn't mean people trying to lose weight can ditch aerobic exercise and jump on the vibration plate instead. They still need a healthy diet and aerobic exercise, but this could be a viable alternative to weight lifting," Vissers said, explaining that the plate works by making muscles rapidly contract, which builds lean muscle mass.

"People say vibration machines are fitness for lazy people. It may feel like a short cut, but if it's easy, you are not doing it properly," he added. "Supervision in the beginning is imperative and the longer the better. What we see in gyms very often - people just standing on the machine holding the handles - is not going to do anything."

Vissers said further research on a larger group of obese patients is needed to confirm how beneficial the machines are. His team is also planning to study why vibration seems to be more effective than aerobic exercise in trimming visceral fat, including whether increased blood flow to the abdomen and hormonal response to vibration might play a role in more efficient fat breakdown. His study was funded by the Artesis University College of Antwerp.

Abstract

A method is described for reducing atmospheric or global warming resulting from the presence of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere, i.e., from the greenhouse effect. Such gases are relatively transparent to sunshine, but absorb strongly the long-wavelength infrared radiation released by the earth. The method incudes the step of seeding the layer of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere with particles of materials characterized by wavelength-dependent emissivity. Such materials include Welsbach materials and the oxides of metals which have high emissivity (and thus low reflectivities) in the visible and 8-12 micron infrared wavelength regions.

What is claimed is:

1. A method of reducing atmospheric warming due to the greenhouse effect resulting from a layer of gases in the atmosphere which absorb strongly near infrared wavelength radiation, comprising the step of dispersing tiny particles of a material within the gases' layer, the particle material characterized by wavelength-dependent emissivity or reflectivity, in that said material has high emissivities with respect to radiation in the visible and far infrared wavelength spectra, and low emissivity in the near infrared wavelength spectrum, whereby said tiny particles provide a means for converting infrared heat energy into far infrared radiation which is radiated into space.

2. The method of claim wherein said material comprises one or more of the oxides of metals.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein said material comprises aluminum oxide.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein said material comprises thorium oxide.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein said particles are dispersed by seeding the stratosphere with a quantity of said particles at altitudes in the range of seven to thirteen kilometers above the earth's surface.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the size of said particles is in the range of ten to one hundred microns.

7. The method of claim wherein said material comprises a refractory material.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein said material is a Welsbach material.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the number of said dispersed particles per unit area in the particle layer is greater than or equal to 1/.sigma..sub.abs 1, where 1 is the thickness of the particle layer and .sigma..sub.abs is the absorption coefficient of the particles at the far infrared wavelengths.

seeding the greenhouse gases' layer with a quantity of tiny particles of a material characterized by wavelength-dependent emissivity or reflectivity, in that said materials have high emissivities in the visible and far infrared wavelength spectra and low emissivity in the near infrared wavelength spectrum,

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to a method for the reduction of global warming resulting from the greenhouse effect, and in particular to a method which involves the seeding of the earth's stratosphere with Welsbach-like materials.

Global warming has been a great concern of many environmental scientists. Scientists believe that the greenhouse effect is responsible for global warming. Greatly increased amounts of heat-trapping gases have been generated since the Industrial Revolution. These gases, such as CO.sub.2, CFC, and methane, accumulate in the atmosphere and allow sunlight to stream in freely but block heat from escaping (greenhouse effect). These gases are relatively transparent to sunshine but absorb strongly the long-wavelength infrared radiation released by the earth.

Most current approaches to reduce global warming are to restrict the release of various greenhouse gases, such as CO.sub.2, CFC, and methane. These imply the need to establish new regulations and the need to monitor various gases and to enforce the regulations.

One proposed solution to the problem of global warming involves the seeding of the atmosphere with metallic particles. One technique proposed to seed the metallic particles was to add the tiny particles to the fuel of jet airliners, so that the particles would be emitted from the jet engine exhaust while the airliner was at its cruising altitude. While this method would increase the reflection of visible light incident from space, the metallic particles would trap the long wavelength blackbody radiation released from the earth. This could result in net increase in global warming.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method for reduction of global warming due to the greenhouse effect which permits heat to escape through the atmosphere.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A method is disclosed for reducing atmospheric warming due to the greenhouse effect resulting from a greenhouse gases layer. The method comprises the step of seeding the greenhouse gas layer with a quantity of tiny particles of materials characterized by wavelength-dependent emissivity or reflectivity, in that said materials have high emissivities in the visible and far infrared wavelength regions and low emissivity in the near infrared wavelength region. Such materials can include the class of materials known as Welsbach materials. The oxides of metal, e.g., aluminum oxide, are also suitable for the purpose. The greenhouse gases layer typically extends between about seven and thirteen kilometers above the earth's surface. The seeding of the stratosphere occurs within this layer. The particles suspended in the stratosphere as a result of the seeding provide a mechanism for converting the blackbody radiation emitted by the earth at near infrared wavelengths into radiation in the visible and far infrared wavelength so that this heat energy may be reradiated out into space, thereby reducing the global warming due to the greenhouse effect.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIG. 1 shows a model for the heat-trapping (greenhouse effect) phenomenon. It is assumed that the greenhouse gases are concentrated at altitudes between y=0 (at some altitude Y.sub.1, above the earth's surface) and y=1. Regardless of the sunshine reflected back into space, i.sub.1 and i.sub.2 denote the shortwavelength sunlight energies that are absorbed by the earth's surface and the greenhouse gases, respectively. Available data shows that i.sub.1 =0.45 i.sub.sol and i.sub.2 =0.25 i.sub.sol, where i.sub.sol is the total flux from the sun. The short wavelength sunlight heats up the greenhouse gases and the earth surface, and this energy is eventually reradiated out in the long wavelength infrared region.

FIG. 2 is a graph illustrating the intensity of sunlight and the earth's blackbody radiation as a function of wavelength. As illustrated, some 30% of the sunlight energy is in the near infrared region. The earth's blackbody radiation, on the other hand, is at the far infrared wavelength.

Referring again to FIG. 1, I.sub.s, I.sub.+, I.sub.-, I.sub.g and I.sub.e represent the fluxes in the infrared wavelength region, where I.sub.s and I.sub.g are the fluxes reradiated by the greenhouse gases toward the sky and ground, respectively; I.sub.e is the flux reradiated by the earth; and I.sub.+ and I.sub.- are fluxes within the gases radiating toward the space and ground, respectively. I.sub.+ and I.sub.- are functions of y, e.g., I.sub.+ (0) is the I.sub.+ flux at y=0. Considering the principles of energy conservation and continuity at boundaries, the following relationships are obtained:

where R.sub.o, R.sub.l and R are the reflectivities at the y=0 and y=1 boundaries and at the earth's surface. I.sub.BB (T.sub.e) is the blackbody radiation flux at the earth's temperature T.sub.e. Within the greenhouse gases' layer, the energy equations are

where I.sub.BB (T.sub.g) is the blackbody radiation flux at the greenhouse gases' temperature T.sub.g, and .alpha. is the absorption coefficient of the gases. The solutions of equations 8 and 9 are given by equations 10 and 11:

To illustrate the effects of R.sub.o and R.sub.l on the green-house effect, the extreme case is considered wherein a high concentration of greenhouse gases has strong absorption in the infrared region; that is, for y=1, e.sup.-.alpha.l approaches 0. Then, using Equations 3 and 4, the relationships of Equations 12 and 13 are obtained.

Finally, Equation 6 gives the blackbody radiation from the earth's surface in terms of i.sub.1 and i.sub.2 and the three reflectivities:

To achieve a lower temperature of the earth, (considering i.sub.1, i.sub.2 and R as constants), it is desirable to make R and R.sub.l as small as possible.

Known refractory materials have a thermal emissivity function which is strongly wavelength dependent. For example, the materials may have high emissivity (and absorption) at the far infrared wavelengths, high emissivity in the visible wavelength range, and very low emissivity at intermediate wavelengths. If a material having those emissivity characteristics and a black body are exposed to IR energy of equal intensity, the selective thermal radiator will emit visible radiation with higher efficiency (if radiation cooling predominates), i.e., the selective thermal radiator will appear brighter than the black body. This effect is known as the Welsbach effect and is extensively used in commercial gas lantern mantles.

Welsbach materials have the characteristic of wavelength-dependent emissivity (or reflectivity). For example, thorium oxide (ThO.sub.2) has high emissivities in the visible and far IR regions but it has low emissivity in the near IR region. So, in accordance with the invention, the layer of greenhouse gases is seeded with Welsbach or Welsbach-like materials which have high emissivities (and thus low reflectivities) in the visible and 8-12 micrometer infrared regions, which has the effect of reducing R.sub.o and R.sub.l while introducing no effect in the visible range.

A desired material for the stratospheric seeding has a reflection coefficient close to unity for near IR radiation, and a reflection coefficient close to zero (or emissity close to unity) for far IR radiation. FIG. 3 is a graph illustrating an ideal emissivity versus wavelength function for the desired material. Another class of materials having the desired property includes the oxides of metals. For example, aluminum oxide (Al.sub.2 O.sub.3) is one metal oxide suitable for the purpose and which is relatively inexpensive.

It is presently believed that particle sizes in the ten to one hundred micron range would be suitable for the seeding purposes. Larger particles would tend to settle to the earth more quickly.

The particles in the required size range can be obtained with conventional methods of grinding and meshing.

It is believed that the number of particles n.sub.d per unit area in the particle layer should be defined by Equation 18:

where 1 is the thickness of the particle layer and .sigma..sub.abs is the absorption coefficient of the particles at the long IR wavelengths. One crude estimate of the density of particles is given by Equation (19):

where c is the speed of light, m is the average particle mass, e is the electron charge, and w is the absorption line width in sec.sup.-1.

The greenhouse gases are typically in the earth's stratosphere at an altitude of seven to thirteen kilometers. This suggests that the particle seeding should be done at an altitude on the order of 10 kilometers. The particles may be seeded by dispersal from seeding aircraft; one exemplary technique may be via the jet fuel as suggested by prior work regarding the metallic particles. Once the tiny particles have been dispersed into the atmosphere, the particles may remain in suspension for up to one year.

It is understood that the above-described embodiment is merely illustrative of the possible specific embodiments which may represent principles of the present invention. Other arrangements may readily be devised in accordance with these principles by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.
